Once you have completed exploring the patient’s history of presenting complaint, you need to move on to more focused questioning relating to the symptoms that may be relevant to pregnancy (if not already discussed).
Use open questioning to explore the patient’s presenting complaint:
Introduce yourself to the patient including your name and role.Ĭonfirm the patient’s name and date of birth.Įxplain that you’d like to take a history from the patient. Wash your hands and don PPE if appropriate.
